But we showed the Spanish Armada and the Krauts at Jutland what real sailing was when it really mattered.:navalship:
OK the Germans sank more of our ships but we destroyed their will to fight. "German newspapers naturally claimed a glorious victory based on the numbers of ships sunk. It was significant, however, that the German High Seas Fleet did not put to sea again for the rest of World War I and the Royal Navy's British Grand Fleet continued to remain in command of the sea."
PS our Sheilas beat your Sheilas in the female version of 20/20 clicket.

Eddie Charlton in 1972, 1973, and 1980, was victorious in the BBC's Pot Black competition isn't it the same as a world champ? :winkiss:
Horace Lindrum competed and was runner-up in the World Professional Snooker Title against Joe Davis five times, finally, winning the title in 1951/52 :winkiss:
Walter Lindrum won the World Professional Billiards Championship in 1933 and held it until his retirement in 1950.:winkiss:

we can do real tennis too.....
Former world No.1 Jelena Jankovic has predicted Sam Stosur to win Saturday's French Open final after being slaughtered 6-1 6-2 by the Australian on Thursday.
The Queenslander used her thumping serve and scorching ground strokes to demolish the Serbian fourth seed in exactly one hour of play in their Roland Garros semi-final.
Stosur will meet court-kissing Francesca Schiavone in the final, the 17th seed being the first Italian to reach a grand slam singles final in the open era.
"She is a very good chance, she is playing very, very well and I think she will do it," said Jankovic.
Australia has not boasted a women's major winner since Evonne Goolagong Cawley collected her second Wimbledon title in 1980 and the nation's last French Open singles title holder was Margaret Court in 1973.
Stosur said knocking off four-time champion Justine Henin, 12-time major winner Serena Williams and Jankovic in a row had her primed for the final.
"Yeah, I think beating the calibre of players I've played the last three rounds definitely helps me for Saturday's match," she said.
"I've beaten all those, so why can't I win one more?
