Just got a call from a mate who witnessed a big fight on Soi7 he said 4 farangs fought 4 thai men and got the better of them only for truck loads to come later to put the odds more in thai favour, typical we hear it all the time, apparently the thais started the fracas, my frien trains at fairtex gym in pattaya and most of the thai blokes in there agree most thai men are cowards they cannot and wont fight until the odds are heavily in their favour.......whatever happened to a good old 1 on 1 fist fight

Yes, no such thing as a fair fight over there which is often frustrating because some of them thai guys deserve twatting on occasion, or as you said in this case, they are the ones to start it all.

That's the problem with being on someone else's turf, always outnumbered unless you can take a few thousand millwall fans with you.
Even then, the guns would start appearing. Can never win.

Hope the guys involved aren't critical or anything and keep us posted if you hear more to the story.

Rule number 1 if you ever have a fight with some Thais and get the better of them - get the fuck away from where you are as soon as possible and never get just 1 baht bus to drop you off at your final destination. Knew a bloke who witnessed some Thais knocking a girl about at 1 of the bars at the Atlantic bar complex, him and a couple of mates told them to stop and when they tried it on with them they slapped them around. The Thais fucked off and soon after the bloke and his mates did too, they went to a snooker club to lie low and about an hour later someone shoots a bullet through the window and about 15 Thais pour in. The cunts got their mates, went back to where it all started, got some birds to point out the baht bus they'd jumped in when it came round again and found out from the driver where they'd gone.

I read a story once about a a drunk farang about 60 yo who got severely bashed by a group of thais in a bar in BKK, he was old and pissed and could have just been moved on. And i know the same thing has happened in Pattsaya . :glare:
Even drunk old men are fair game to these cowards. :disgust: I cant fathom it , i can only assume its one of those mysterious thai cultural behaviours that gives them the right without guilt or remorse to assault the weak in large numbers . :pity: I guess its partly the reason why i dont have much to do with thai men,......i dont have a great deal of respect for them as a result of this.

spoke to Tam about it,she agreed that alot of thai men are cowards they only feel strong when they have back up,she has witnessed quite a few incidents while she worked in Patts, none fair in respect to the falang.
I heard a comment once that the Thais are the jackals of SE Asia, maybe this is where the term is coming from

I read something a while back (think it was on Stick) where a Thai bloke stated that the main difference is that Falangs fight to win but Thais fight to kill.

It seems that once a fight starts then one side has to be severely beaten or even killed, rather than the Falang way of getting the upper hand.

I heard that exact same quote in Cambodia. I'm in KL at the moment and have spoken to several Malaysians and Singaporeans who have expressed similar opinions. They actually find it quite funny that the Thais boast that they have never been colonised.

The only reason Thailand was never FULLY colonised is because Pattaya was still a fishing village and Patpong/Nana/Soi Cowboy were still paddy fields.

Narrows down how many sides to the story there will be if I ever went to the police station or court. Better to kill a farang than end up in the monkey house I suppose.

Thailand is a different country and a different concept. When thais get into a fight it is about winning....not some little schoolyard brawl.

Thais fight the way how these things are done here......it's weapons and numbers, they're not going to change because some westerner wants to have a barbrawl according to queensbury rules!

Get involved in a fight here and be prepared for extreme brutality, otherwise leave it.

that may be the case, the bottom line its cowardice 15 against 1 or 5 against 1 ,hardly hard are ya doing that.,also they are obviously pretty damn racist/prejudice just cos its thai v falang we`l get involved and put the falang in hospital, even if the thai(s) who started it slapped the falangs wife or intended harm to their kid,the cunts will still defend the thai, then you wake up in hospital if your lucky and face deportation and a hefty fine, bottom line is in places like pattaya,if it wernt for currency we`d be about as welcome as barack obama to a kkk meet

Anyway, I have a simple policy, I don't get into fights with lads when I am in their country. Wouldn't expect them to do it in my country, so I won't in theirs.
Exactly. Why the fcuk lads want to get into fights when their on holiday is beyond my comprehension.

Si, you need to think outside the box mate. It's not a racist thing. The same principles apply to thai on thai confrontations and the level of violence in those situations is often much worse. That's the way things are done in Thailand and it's no use trying to judge it against western principles and values.

I think the thais in general cut foreigners quite a lot of slack where behaviour is concerned. I've very rarely seen or heard a case of where a farang has taken a gratuitous beating. In most cases the beating was deserved and resulted from someone being out of order and behaving like a complete arsehole. I don't have much sympathy for people in those situations because they usually get fair warning and choose to ignore it.

mmmm! I think its craazzy to get involved in a fight with thai men, when they 'flip' they go nuts!.I have seen thai men join in and they dont even know whats the fight is about! they just join in if thai are fighting farang!..once watched the 'boys' in the khao sarn cafe, thump 3english men!..if you make them loose face they just lose it'..the staff in the cafe are gay!..but they can fight! haha! usualy with 2 x two's or anything that comes to hand!..

If you have to fight Thai men ... which i have had to do a few times either back off and come back later tooled up and do them by suprise at 4am when they were dozing in their chairs, like i did to the 4 security guys who vandalised my car or become a complete homicidal nutter with a death wish and that worked the time my wife was robbed by 5 guys back in 2001

otherwise do the sensible thing and walk away.

Saw about 20 thais chase after and attack another thai in Phuket, who had run down a girl on a bike and was trying to bolt with the motorbike wedged under his car. They caught him at the lights and were pounding on the car and reigning punches in through the half opened window. Lucky for him the cops came otherwise he would be dead for sure.

Not always that simple though, what would you do for example if you was with your chosen lady for the night and some Thai guy comes up to her, probably her bf, and tears into her verbally and then physically ?

Stand idly by and do nothing ?

How about you try to defuse the situation down by talking calmly to the gentlemen in question ?

If you chose the 2nd option don't be at all surprised if he then focuses his physical assault on you and half a dozen other Thai guys who don't know the 1st guy from Somchai join in on the impromptu game of smash the Farangs head in with anything that comes to hand.

Reminded me a bit of something that happened when I was younger. Some coloured gentlemen came down to my hometown to cause trouble, they chased some little guy I know, got him down an alley and give him a kicking, 5 on 1. Later on that night there was a load of us coming out the pub and someone points them out so we runs after them and they jump in their car but it's hemmed in by 2 buses, so whilst the driver was trying to manoeuvre backwards and forwards out the gap about 20 blokes were jumping up and down on the roof, bonnet, boot, kicking in the doors, wings and shattering the windscreen. It looked like it was probably his dads car so he had a lot of explaining to do when he got home.

As cowardly as it may sound, seems like a good time to go to the toilet and not come back.

I almost got caught up in one of these situations at Storms bar(now billabong)It was scary stuff,it all started off with a "hiso" Thai girl berating Storms wife for not moving her car quick enough,I mean,it was just over nothing.Anyway the Hiso's boyfriend appeared out of the car and ran to the motosai guys for back-up.It ended in a stand-off and eventually they all just drifted off.I was really relieved.

About the guys beating up their girlfriends.....well that just makes me sick.I know the girls all say "no hab boyflen now,him boxing me too mutt" but it does happen,I've seen it.

Stay safe and don't get pissed out of your head.
